When Ben Finemore took out New Zealand’s Sprint Car Championship in 2005 he became New Zealand’s youngest ever Sprint Car Champion. Ben was just 15 at the time and was driving the oldest and heaviest car in the race.
The TAB rated him a rank outsider, with odds of 150:1. He took the title from eight-time national champion Allan Wakeling, a Sprint Car veteran who won his first national title the year Ben was born.
When Ben made his 2005/06 debut appearance at BayPark Speedway he showed he was no one hit wonder. Ben won the feature race from a 21 strong field. Watch this site for more great wins from Ben Finemore in the Trimax 1NZ Sprint Car.
